Hillside is celebrating its double digit improvement with its 2016 CAASPP scores. Our 6th through 8th students improved at least 10 percent from 2015 in ELA and Math. Hillside is committed to improving on these scores in 2017.
Our Student Support Period is in full swing; our students with below a 75 percent in all their classes are required to report to their teachers’ classrooms from 2:20 PM to 3 PM Monday through Thursday to get extra help!
Back to School Night was a tremendous success. A majority of our parents participated in this informative night. Teachers shared their curriculum, their websites, and promoted all the wonderful activities that would be occurring in their classrooms during the 2016-2017 school year. We are looking forward to witnessing all the future successes
We are also pushing our "No Frills Fundraiser" where we hope to raise between $50,000 to $100,000 to help support our Hillside STEAM activities. These activities go above and beyond the normal middle school experience, but we feel our students deserve it. Hillside Middle School’s CTE pathways are in full swing. We are in the process of getting 4 of our teachers CTE certified which will bring in another $25,000 for each program. And finally, we are looking forward to the Simi Valley Days Parade where some of our dancers and chorus members will be performing September 15-17.
