March Madness

Is it March already?

With Volleyball Season ending this week, we are looking forward to Soccer season for our next Intramural Sport.  If your student is interested in representing the true spirit of a Hillside Hawk, have them listen for try-out information in the morning announcements.

With Choice Month behind us, parents who applied for the 2017-18 school year for their student will be informed shortly about acceptance or position on the waiting list.  Notifications will go out soon.  If you haven't applied yet and want to come, you may still sign up and be placed on the waiting list.  Also, school tours continue.  If you are interested in a school tour, click the button above.

Gold Ribbon is the highest recognition for public schools in California.  Hillside STEAM Academy has been notified that we are a finalist for this high honor.  A team from the county will be touring the campus later this month to check out the innovative programs we have that make Hillside an amazing place for students to learn.

8th Grade Digital Career Portfolio is making great progress.  This multi-subject project has students applying concepts they learned in their classes to help them understand how to become what they want through college, training or military experience and also use technology to create the various pieces of their project, from a spreadsheet using formulas for computations to a slideshow presentation.  We are looking for volunteers to help on the Portfolio Day, Friday, April 28th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, please click this link to sign up.

SVUSD is offering summer school for middle and high school students. For information regarding summer school please visit simivalleysummerschools.weebly.com.

Remember to check Aeries and the School Calendar weekly to keep up on important school events and your student's information.  Students are bringing home their yellow Advisory folders to help them plan for their week's SSP activities and need your guidance.  Students have also completed their Naviance and the district mailed parent account information for you to use to view and mentor your students through middle and high school as they grow and prepare for college and career beyond school
