Attending Hillside STEAM Academy
Hillside STEAM Academy is a neighborhood school that is also open to School of Choice, pending available space. The School of Choice applications are opened in late Fall. Information on the process can be found in this link: https://www.simivalleyusd.org/enrollment/enroll-soc and will be updated once the School of Choice deadlines are chosen.

Incoming 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students: We will communicate with incoming families beginning early/mid February. Once you receive notification from us, we will direct you to select your child's courses online.
Once you have been accepted to Hillside through the School of Choice process, or you have confirmed that Hillside is your neighborhood school*, this page will help you navigate the enrollment process.
Enrolling at Hillside STEAM Academy
If your child is new student in the Simi Valley Unified School District, please complete an enrollment form and return it to the Main Office. Additional documentation required for enrollment is listed in the welcome letter below. Please Note: Enrollment forms cannot be submitted online, but they can be emailed. After completion, the form must be printed and brought into our office, saved as a PDF and attached to an email, or scanned and emailed. Neighborhood Students
Neighborhood students are automatically enrolled at Hillside Middle School unless they apply to another middle school through the School of Choice Application. For neighborhood students, you will be emailed by March 1 to complete your course request. The link can be found below under "Steps for Registration" under Step 4B. Elective descriptions can be viewed below under Step 2.

Step 1: For students NOT currently enrolled in a SVUSD school: Once accepted, download the Welcome Letter and Enrollment Form linked above. Complete and return all required documentation to our registrar, Amanda Sarfaty, in our Counseling Office. |

| Step 2: Once you have received confirmation that your child has been accepted at Hillside STEAM Academy: Review our Elective Descriptions to see which classes would be appropriate for your child and the Informational Video for additional recommendations, information, and guidance. | |

Step 3: For Incoming 6th Grade Students: Click the link to the right and complete the online form. Please refer to the course descriptions in Step 2 when selecting courses. |

Step 4: For Next Year's 7th and 8th Grade Students (currently enrolled at Hillside): You will complete a course request form that you will receive in your Social Studies class and then meet with your counselor one on one (February). |

Step 5: Some elective courses require applications and Advanced Performing Arts Courses require an audition: AUDITIONS: This is for ADVANCED Performing Arts Classes. Auditions are usually scheduled in March. Please check back for dates.
