Hillside STEAM Academy is a neighborhood school (except for sixth grade- School of Choice only). All available seats above and beyond neighborhood enrollment follow School of Choice application rules.  

The link above will take you to forms that may be completed and submitted electronically. If you have questions, please contact Hillside's Registrar at 805-520-6810 ext 1012 or email at (milana.sobel@simivalleyusd.org).

Incoming 6th Grade Students: We will notify incoming 6th grade families of their acceptance to Hillside beginning March 1st. Once you receive notification from us, we will direct you to select your child's electives online.

Incoming 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students: We will communicate with incoming 7th and 8th grade families beginning March 1st. Once you receive notification from us, we will direct you to select your child's electives online.

Once you have been accepted to Hillside through the School of Choice process, or you have confirmed that Hillside is your neighborhood school*, this page will help you navigate the enrollment process.

*Note: ALL 6th grade students must apply to attend Hillside through the School of Choice process.

Enrolling at Hillside STEAM Academy

If your child is new student in the Simi Valley Unified School District,  please complete an enrollment form and return it to the Counseling Office. Please Note: Enrollment forms can not be submitted online (other than by email).  After completion, the form must be printed and brought into our office, saved as a PDF and attached to an email, or scanned and emailed.  Please send any Enrollment forms via email to the Registrar (milana.sobel@simivalleyusd.org).

Neighborhood Students- 7th and 8th Grade

Neighborhood students are automatically enrolled at Hillside Middle School unless they apply to another middle school through the School of Choice Application.  For Neighborhood students, you will be emailed at the start of March to complete your course request.  The link can be found below under "Steps for Registration" under Step 4B.  Elective descriptions can be viewed below under Step 2.

Steps for Registration

Step 1: For students NOT currently enrolled in a SVUSD school: Once accepted, download the Introduction Letter and Enrollment Form above. Complete and return all required documentation to our registrar, Milana Sobel, in our Counseling Office.                                
Step 2: Once you have received confirmation that your child has been accepted at Hillside STEAM Academy: Review our Elective Descriptions to see which classes would be appropriate for your child and the Informational Video for additional recommendations, information, and guidance.

Step 3: For Incoming 6th Grade Students: Click the link to the right and complete the online form.  Please refer to the course descriptions in Step 2 when selecting courses.  Link will be active starting March 1st.  Please complete by March 15th. HERE
Step 4A: For Next Year's 7th and 8th Grade Students (currently enrolled at Hillside): Please see your counselor.  
Step 4B: For Next Year's 7th and 8th Grade Students (NOT currently enrolled at Hillside): Click the link to the right and complete the online form.  Please refer to the course descriptions in Step 2 when selecting courses. Link will be active starting March 1st.  Please complete by March 15th.

AUDITIONS: This is for ADVANCED Performing Arts Classes. Auditions will take place on March 18, 2023.  Please use the links below to sign up for an audition time slot. 

Guideline for Priority Enrollment at Santa Susana High School

Click HERE for the criteria and application links to School of Choice for SSHS and the Priority Enrollment application.  Both must be completed to meet Priority Enrollment; however, students still have access to enroll at SSHS without Priority Enrollment.
